after the lack of total chaos when it snowed the other day i thought we might have learnt how to drive in winter

Luckily my side of the country wasn’t too bad this morning, only one corner near my office was a bit slippery. I hope it stays that way, as I’m driving a loaner Citroen C1 while the Twingo is being fixed, and it doesn’t feel very sure footed even on damp roads

How even? That’s barely even beginning to accumulate. I’m pretty sure racing slicks would still have enough grip to keep a car on the road in that. How does one person end up off the road, let alone 5+?

Coz round here when you see cars sliding off the road we don't think it might be slippery apparently

Man, it looks SUPER icy in that pic. Maybe not so much from the look of the road surface itself, but the cars are a dead giveaway. Especially the red one, judging by its tire tracks and steering angle. Setting two wheels on the grass is probably the best bet for traction here. If there’s any room to get by up ahead, that is.
